Best price on-line, the coffee is flavorful and I especially like the Amazon packaging; not extra stuff!

No problems with this product. I don't call it mild, more like a medium cup. It's not as strong a brew as Starbucks T-Disc (but what is!). I won't hesitate to purchase again.

I've owned a Tassimo machine for close to a year, and still it makes wonderful coffee, which I enjoy every morning. Starbucks morning blend has been my favorite, but I always found it brews a large cup, where I love to add milk to my coffee, which always made it too much to enjoy before the coffee got cooler. But here comes Gevalia to the rescue. Having ordered one pack to try, I'm really enjoying it! The Tassimo brewer [which reads the bar code on the t-disk], brews a perfect sized cup, and with milk it's heaven! Oh, I also love the espresso from Gevalia, it's fantastic. I used to buy Carte Noir direct from Tassimo, but switched to Gevalia's and amazon, and have not looked back.

I've tried several of the various coffees for Tassimo machines; Gevalia, Henry's, Starbucks, Maxwell House, Carte Noir. The Gevalia Signature Blend is my favorite. I wouldn't consider it a mild coffee, I think it's a bit closer to medium. It has a rich flavor that doesn't come across as being burnt or bitter (like some other coffees do), and is quite smooth. The discs control the temperature and size of the serving, and I find these discs to be quite good in those regards, making a hot cup of coffee that fills a mug to a comfortable level. I've owned my machine for over three years now, and these discs have consistently brewed an excellent cup of coffee. I heartily recommend them.

The act of drinking coffee will not replace the craving for alcohol and it will not lessen it. Addiction is the unrelenting physical and mental need for a mind altering substance or high. An alcoholic in recovery has to be vigilant about not cross addicting, which is what you are touching on. And coffee, in large amounts, is a stimulant. So is tobacco, which is why so many addicts smoke.

Addicts that gravitate toward 'stimulants', like coke or meth, diet pills, etc can take off with coffee or energy drinks. Also, any addict can cross addict to a whole different area, like gambling, sex, video games... It's the mind going to unhealthy amounts of something to escape. Bottom line.

If someone is 'addicted' to caffeine (and I wonder how you are using the word; clinically or casually?) they could move to alcohol, I guess, to change to a mind altering substance but I don't see that as a big danger. I see the other way around as a danger because caffeine is seen an 'safe' and larger amounts can creep up and create a need. I have seen former meth addicts relapse starting with energy drinks.....

Hope this helps.

My dad and sister both drink coffee in the morning and beer at night.

I don't drink coffee, but I drink beer.

I don't think coffee and alcohol have any connection.

Alcohol works differently than coffee.
Alcohol is drank mostly at night (or afternoon.. but not morning usually ha) and it's a depressant, which makes me more calm usually.
Coffee is mostly in the morning, to wake up or for some people to take their morning poop.

I'll choose alcohol over coffee any day.

They say the number of vices is constant - you kick one habit (or addiction), and aquire another.

The coffee-addiction is not as strong as alcohol-addiction - however, coffee is not just coffe - the type and roast may vary, some would say it's a science. So if you get the alcoholic interested in coffee on a more advanced level, you may have a chance. :)

You can get addicted to coffee, at least to where you get caffeine headaches from withdrawal, and feel sluggish without your fix.

To lessen alcohol dependence, you may wish to investigate kudzu.

Yes a person can become addicted to coffee. And yes coffee as well as nicotine help with the cravings that alcoholics have
No it will never take the place of alcohol for an alcoholic. If you need more information I suggest that you contact you local AA and see if the will help you with your research paper.
