Coffee makers don’t have a flavor, they just do the kind of coffee they are designed to do.
I know that if you grind the beans yourself it will taste a lot fresher, and store them in a dark container. As for the coffee maker, I don’t think it would make a difference in the taste.
yes they do take the percolator for example the aroma and taste of freshly brewed coffee is more intense, the drip is just that it’s water that just run over the coffee grinds very fast , then you have the espresso maker it takes a very dark roast coffee and little water to make it a good espresso, then there is the French Press you add boiling water to the coffee let it stand for a few minutes to absorb the colour and taste the press the plunger down and your coffee is now ready but at all time you must use fresh cold water and a very clean coffee maker for best results and last but not least a good quality coffee
The type of filter you use can have an effect on the end product.
You are correct, the coffee has a lot to do with it but the temperature and type of the water is very important, Coffee needs to be brewed at 190 degrees for best results, so many different models have different heater elements that get the water heated to a good temp. The big Coffee urns at restaurants and such have water stored at 190 degrees all the time in a reservoir chamber and all you do is press a button and it starts dripping and brewing.

All of these are different ways to make coffee. You could use the same beans and they would come out tasting different in each.
A good coffee maker is only one part of the equation of making taste e coffee.
